Designing for LEGO Easter was slightly different from our regular design process. The base layout and building technique for the 3 eggs were done in CGI which enabled us to figure out how the eggs could be solid, as well as being able to break apart easily when smashed.

Storyboard
For this production, the storyboard was created in order to mock up what each egg drop would roughly look like. As there was no animation in this production, the storyboard acted as a guide for the colours of the eggs and their fillings.

Photos
The LEGO Easter drops were filmed in super slow-motion with a special camera designed to shoot at a very high frame rate. What took less than 3 seconds to film ended up as roughly 1 minute of footage.

Making Of
Our Easter film with LEGO involved some careful planning. Each egg had to be modelled to be strong enough to hold its shape, but to also enable it to break into pieces when it was dropped.
